Anna Corbett

Legal Innovation + Technology Certificate
Class of 2020

Anna Corbett is a 3L Legal Innovation + Technology Certificate student in the Law Lab. She earned her B.A. from the University of Oregon where she triple-majored in Philosophy, Spanish, and International Studies (with an emphasis in conflict resolution). After spending a semester working at a monthly periodical in Costa Rica, she took a position with Disability Services on campus working as a reader for Books on Tape. Upon graduation, she worked with a full-service immigration firm as a paralegal and interpreter and focused mainly on family-based visas, removal defense, and extreme hardship waivers. Merging her interest in accessibility and immigration, she then transitioned to working in the field of language access where she was exposed to the dynamic ways that technology, data, and access to medical and interpreting services could be integrated to improve service delivery and patient experience and engagement.

Anna chose to attend Chicago-Kent because of its depth of curriculum related to access to justice, data analytics, and other innovative approaches to the practice of law. She is especially passionate about seeking out opportunities that reveal “accessibility blind spots.” She wants to thoughtfully participate in the development of tools that improve and acknowledge the importance of access to justice for all and reduce pain points for all users.
