Joseph Reyna

Joseph Reyna is a 3L in the Legal Innovation + Technology, Intellectual Property, and PRAXIS Certificate programs at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is an Executive Article Editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property and holds leadership positions with both the Hispanic Latino Law Student Association and the Land Use and Real Estate Law Society at Chicago-Kent.

Joseph earned his B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Foundations from The Ohio State University. His specialization was Data Analytics and he focused on utilizing R to analyze election data. After graduating, Joseph went directly to law school where he first learned of analytics applied to law through Chicago-Kent’s Legal Analytics course. Through this connection, he found a passion for tying his background in analytics to making the practice of law more accessible and cost-effective.

During his time in undergraduate, Joseph started working at a small general practice in his hometown. There, he worked primarily on criminal cases and real estate closings. By attending court calls, he was introduced to various access to justice issues and issues with the inefficiencies throughout the traditional law firm model. Using the skills gained from his time in the Legal Innovation + Technology Certificate program, Joseph plans to apply new technology in practice to alleviate the burdens imposed on firms and client's alike. In addition to being a full-time law student, Joseph is also an Illinois Licensed Real Estate Broker.
